QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Be able-bodied, have sound health and possess an understanding of handicapped children and their limitations.
- Additional criteria as the Board may establish.
- Physical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, tasks and duties.
REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator
SUPERVISES: None
JOB GOAL: To lead the district in creating an organization of one, increasing student achievement and
establishing school community relationships.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 months
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the bus driver in getting children on and off the bus.
- Takes care of children while the bus is underway.
- Participates in in-service training for Special Education bus drivers and aides.
- Notifies the Transportation Coordinator and the Bus Driver when he/she is unable to ride the bus.
- Provides for the needs of individual students.
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the proper authority.
- Must follow all Head Start regulations.
PROFESSIONAL ETHICS:
- Maintains good attendance.
- Reports to work on time.
- Displays professional ethics on and off duty.
- Adheres to all Iberville Parish School Board’s Policies
- Reports to job-related injuries within 48 hours of work accident to the immediate supervisor.
- Assumes responsibility for implementation of emergency procedures.
- Seeks and maintains a positive attitude of promoting school and community relations.
- Participates in and promotes harmonious working relationships with students, colleagues, parents and community members.
- Attends meetings as directed.
- Serves on task force and decision-making committees, when appropriate.
