JOB GOAL: To maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that all health and safety codes are properly applied.
- Locks and unlocks doors, checks the security of school building and grounds, and activates the burglar alarm.
- Sweeps and wet and dry mops floors.
- Strips and waxes floors and operates buffing machine.
- Vacuums and cares for carpeting.
- Washes windows and walls and polishes furniture.
- Cleans restrooms, kitchen area, cafeteria and overhead lights.
- Folds and unfolds chairs and moves furniture.
- Dusts woodwork, furniture and other articles.
- Picks up paper and debris on grounds.
- Checks heating and air-conditioning equipment for proper operation.
- Raises and lowers flag.
- Makes minor repairs to buildings, building equipment and furniture.
- Delivers packages and messages.
- Replaces light bulbs.
- Replenishes supplies.
- Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
- Maintains equipment and materials used in the workplace.
- Assists in loading and unloading trucks and carries packages.
- Cleans boiler room.
- Performs simple painting and other trades tasks.
- Cleans and sweeps bleachers.
- Cuts grass and hedges and rakes clipping.
- Cleans chalkboards and chalk sills.
- Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance. Assist in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives. Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service. Orients new co-workers and actively supports teamwork throughout the school system.
